As a cultural anthropologist with a deep appreciation for Brazil's Afro-Brazilian heritage, staying at Pousada Almaviva was a delightful experience. the 18th-century guesthouse, believed to be one of the first houses in Boipeba, exudes charm with its original antique furnishings. the shared living room with a TV and games added a cozy touch to our stay, while the continental breakfast with a variety of local treats was a true delight. We enjoyed relaxing on the shared balcony with a hammock and sofa, taking in the serene atmosphere of this historic property. the outdoor pool was a refreshing spot to unwind after exploring the nearby Tassimirim Beach and Cueira Beach, both worth visiting for their natural beauty. the attentive owners, Marcos and Richard, along with the friendly staff, made us feel right at home. the convenient location in the town's central square made it easy to explore the vibrant surroundings, including great restaurants and a night market. Pousada Almaviva provided a perfect blend of historical charm, modern comforts, and warm hospitality, making it a place I would eagerly return to.
